Android - How to do speech translations with more than one person
There are two ways to have a conversation with someone who speaks a different language.
1. When you are at the same location as the person you want to have a conversation with
2. If the person you want to have a conversation with is not at the same location
1. When you are at the same location as the person you want to have a conversation with, you can use your device and do the following:
- Open Microsoft Translator
- Tap the Microphone icon
- Tap the from-language and select your language
- Tap the to-language and select the language of the person you are going to have a conversation with
- Tap the icon with 2 microphones
- Press and hold the microphone icon and say the sentence you want to translate
- Let go of the microphone icon
- The translation will be pronounced.
2. If the person you want to have a conversation with is not at the same location, you can both use Translator Live.
- Open Microsoft Translator
- Tap the conversation icon which is the icon that contains two figurines
You will need a code to start the Live conversation and there are two ways to get a code:
A. If you are the one who wants to set up a conversation:
- Tap "Start"
- Add your name and your language
- Tap "Enter" and you will see a Conversation code which you can share with someone who you want to have a conversation with.
B. When someone has already started a conversation and gives you a code.
- Add the code in the text box to the left of the camera icon at Join conversation
- Tap "Join"
