Windows - How to do a voice translation

The Microsoft Translator app for Windows desktop is retired and is no longer available for download from the Microsoft Store. Please read the Translator blog to discover all your options for translating on your Windows device.

To do a voice translation take the following steps:
  • Tap or click on Translator
  • Tap or click on Voice
  • Choose the from-language and the to-language
  • Click the microphone button, or Ctrl + Spacebar, and say something
  • When you are done with your sentence click the microphone button or Ctrl + Spacebar again to stop the recording.
  • The translation will appear
Note: if both the from- and the to-language are available Speech Translation Languages you can tap the icon the between the languages and switch languages.
