The issue you describe is a bug and we are working on a fix for this. In the meantime please listen to the translation. Every time you tap the speaker button it will pronounce the translation at a slower pace for your convenience. This is available for the following languages:

Please change the name of the app back to just "Translator" because the full name "Microsoft Translator" cannot be displayed on the iOS homescreen.
You can still use the long name "Microsoft Translator" in the app store for promotion and distinction purposes but please change it for the actual app name in iOS.42 votes
Please create a consistent experience by having back buttons in the entire app. Sometimes it is 'close' sometimes there is a back button6 votes
The voice recording on the 1-1 translator requires the green button to be held down long after the words are spoken or else the last part of the sentence is cut off. It is not functioning intuitively2 votes
When I go to offline language and click on the cloud icon it just keep loading nothing gets download, allways a rotating Circle at IPhone but when I try this at the IPad I can download offline Packages. Same WLAN, same iOS Version.4 votes

This is a known issue and please bear with us while we fix this.
For now, make sure your device is not in battery saving mode when downloading a language and also make sure you update your app to the latest version available in the online app store.

In iOS 9 when you go to spotlight search you can search anything since it is a open source. Maybe you can search pinned translations through spotlight search which would be easier to look for.
